About the Game

QUAD is a fast-paced tile matching defence game. You have a 5×5 grid. Waves of coloured tiles push in from the sides, threatening to flood the board. Your job: match three or more of the same colour to clear them before the flood reaches you.

QUAD is a quick, replayable, challenging arcade game.

A single run only takes a few minutes and your best score can rank on the worldwide Leaderboard.

Can you reach #1?

How to Play in 3 Steps

1
Waves push in
Every few seconds a wave of five new tiles pushes in from a random side. Indicator strips show which colours are coming and where.
2
Match three or more
Tap a tile and move or swap it into position. Line up three or more of the same colour horizontally or vertically to clear them. Bigger matches score more.
3
Beat the flood
If the board fills completely, it's game over. Keep matching to keep the flood back. New colours and armoured tiles appear as your score climbs.

The Threats

Normal
Simple defence wave. Represented as a coloured circle.
Armour
Bulkier. Takes 3 hits to break.
Titan
One tough cookie. Takes 9 hits to break.

As you progress, threats become harder and more frequent.

Who Made It

QUAD Game is made by a small independent games studio. Making digital and tabletop experiences for players all around the world.

How QUAD Was Built

QUAD was designed, balanced, and playtested by a human game designer with a background in tabletop game design. The game logic, wave mechanics, difficulty curve, tile behaviour, and art direction were all human decisions.

AI coding assistants were used to write the JavaScript that runs the game. This is the same kind of assistance a small studio might get from a contract programmer, only faster and more iterative. Every change was reviewed, tested, and shaped by hand.

Using AI as a coding assistant is a tool choice, not a design choice. The design work behind QUAD, the parts that make a game feel good to play, remain what they have always been: human decisions, made carefully. We are open about it because we think honesty about how things get built matters more than pretending otherwise.

If you want more detail on the process, the dev log covers specific decisions and bug hunts along the way.
