Privacy Policy
Last updated: 27 June 2026
This policy explains what information QUAD collects when you play the game at quadgame.online, how we use it, and what choices you have.
Who we are
QUAD is made by Board and Sorcery, a small independent games studio making digital and tabletop experiences for players all around the world. You can contact us at hello@quadgame.online.
What we collect
We collect the smallest amount of data needed to run a leaderboard and improve the game.
- Display name, the name you enter when submitting a score. Shown publicly on the leaderboard.
- Email address (hashed only), when you submit a score, your email is converted to a one-way SHA-256 hash in your browser, before it is sent. We never see or store your actual email address. The hash is used only to recognise repeat plays from the same person so we don't show duplicate entries on the leaderboard.
- Gameplay statistics, your score, tiles cleared, game duration, which phase you reached, and basic device info (mobile or desktop, browser language, timezone). This is anonymous play data tied to a random session ID.
- Aggregate global counters, total tiles popped, armour broken, and titans defeated across all players. These are global tallies, not linked to any individual.
- Analytics, we use Google Analytics 4 to understand how people find and use the site. GA4 collects standard web traffic information (page views, country, device type, referrer). See Google's privacy policy for details.
- Advertising, we display ads via Google AdSense. AdSense may set cookies to serve relevant ads. You can manage ad personalisation at Google Ad Settings.
What we do not collect
- We do not collect your real email address. Only its irreversible hash.
- We do not collect your name beyond the public display name you choose to submit.
- We do not ask for your age, location (beyond GA4's standard country-level data), phone, or any identification.
- We do not require an account to play. The score form is fully optional.
How we use it
We use this information to:
- Run the public leaderboard.
- Understand which features players use most so we can improve the game.
- Show global statistics like "total tiles popped worldwide".
- Occasionally send updates about new features, other Board and Sorcery games, or QUAD-related news, if you opt in. You can unsubscribe at any time.
We will never sell your data
We do not sell, rent, or trade your information to third parties for their marketing. The only third parties that receive data are the technical service providers we use to run the game: Google (Analytics, AdSense), Supabase (database hosting), and our website host. Each of these has their own privacy policy and acts as a data processor on our behalf.
Cookies
We use cookies and local storage for:
- Saving your display name and audio preference locally so you don't have to re-enter them.
- Resuming an in-progress game if you close the tab and come back.
- Google Analytics traffic measurement.
- Google AdSense ad serving.
You can clear cookies at any time in your browser settings. Doing so will not break the game, but you may lose a saved game in progress.
Your rights
You can:
- Ask us to remove your leaderboard entry by emailing us with the display name you submitted.
- Ask what we have stored linked to your email hash (we'd ask you to provide the hash from your browser, since we can't reverse-look-up by email).
- Stop playing at any time. We don't track you between sessions unless you submit a score.
Children
QUAD is a casual puzzle game and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has submitted information, please contact us and we'll remove it.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. Continued use of the game after changes means you accept the new version.
